You Are Stronger Than You Think
March 16, 2020
I’ll never be able to raise these kids by myself… I don’t make enough money.
This was my very first thought when my husband left. I only worked 3 days a week at the time and had never paid a mortgage payment in my life!
I didn’t make enough money.
I worked nights.
I couldn’t pick my kids up from school or take them to their extracurricular activities.
There was no one home with my kids when I worked late.
So what was I going to do? I had no choice now, it was down to me to figure out every detail of my children’s lives.
I want you to know, if this sounds like you, you’re not alone. You are STRONGER than you think. You are INTUITIVE and can figure anything out. You are RESOURCEFUL and RELATIONAL, you know people who can help you. You are EMOTIONAL and can help your children navigate the new definition of their family.
You mama, DO have what it takes to raise your children on your own!
Yes, it is scary. Especially after the newness wears off and you don’t see and end in sight. Keep your eye on the prize, adulthood 🙂
Yes, there will be plenty of time where you will be lonely, keep your eye on the prize, adulthood 🙂
Yes, figuring out the finances will always seem like a juggling act, keep your eye on the prize, adulthood 🙂
But mama, I want you to know, God gave you these precious children and God will give you His infinite power to raise them.
You are not raising them by yourself!
So what is one old belief you had about solo parenting that you are able to see differently now?
