Accountability Is Key

March 9, 2020

Have you ever done something dumb, crazy or just plain bad for you and said to yourself, “I’m never going to do that again?”

If you have, you know it can be a crazy cycle of beating yourself up for it.

I’ve been in this exact spot lately and it’s a crummy feeling. But that situation is based on a belief that I’ll never do that dumb thing again.

Then I do it again!

Maybe it’s a diet fail and you ate sugar when you were on a sugar fast. Maybe it’s falling for that guy that’s just your type but you know he’s bad for you or maybe Amazon was calling your name one too many times this month and now your short in your bank account for your bills.

But one thing I’m realizing is that I can tell myself anything, and BELIEVE IT! But if I share my thoughts, beliefs and actions with someone else, then I’m accountable to another person for what I’ve said and the values I hold for myself.

When I embrace this truth, and make myself accountable to someone I trust, it’s a game changer.

It can ward off days of self-loathing. Help you feel proud of yourself when you stick to your standards and strength to stay true to your values.

So I want to encourage you to get some accountability. If you’re unclear about what accountability is or how to get an accountability partner let’s chat.
